Coral shares how she got introduced to yoga 25 years ago when she was a college student and her mother encouraged her to try yoga. She was reluctant at first but once she did “I never looked back.” Coral decided to pursue a yoga teacher training after a Yoga teacher suggested that she do so. She has now been teaching for 15 years. Coral states that her yoga practice and teaching has been influenced by her psychotherapy training, work and research. She reports that some of the benefits of yoga is increased flexibility and strength of the physical body “but primarily the benefit is the strength and flexibility of the mind and the spirit and the way it helps you to know yourself in so many different ways.” Coral believes that your yoga practice on your mat prepares you for your every day life. “As you are on the mat so you are in the world.”
