Please enjoy this RNN’s Profiles in Health and Wellness featured guest Kim Mendes who is the founder of Yoreganics natural laundry and skin care products for sensitive skin. She shares that her company began eight years ago when her two daughters were struggling with skin challenges. At that time Kim turned to holistic healing practices to help her daughters. She had a interior design business and wanted to “go green with that” so wanted to come up with something that could help her family and clients. Kim’s first product was Soap Nuts which is actually a dried fruit husk from the Himalayan mountains. When mixed with the water in your washing machine it creates a cleaning soap. It is a non toxic biodegradable laundry detergent. They can be reused five to ten times. “I noticed a difference in my girls skin after using that.” Her next ventures were coming up with a natural stain remover and then a skin balm. The skin balm is good for a whole host of ailments from chapped lips to eczema. “I tell people it removes bad attitudes as well.”
